Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026. This policy explains what information MinecraftSA (“we”, “us”) collects when you use minecraftsa.co.za, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Who we are
MinecraftSA is an independent Minecraft guide website for players in South Africa. You can contact us at [email protected]. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, for visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR.
The short version
- You can read every guide and use every tool without an account, and the tools do not send what you type to us.
- The site itself sets no tracking cookies (Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell visitors from bots). Advertising on the site is served by Google AdSense, and Google sets cookies for that — see Advertising and cookies, including how to opt out.
- If you use the contact form, we receive what you write plus your IP address, and use it only to reply to you and to deal with abuse.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, the subject you chose and your message. The form also records the IP address the message was sent from and the time it was sent, which helps us deal with spam and abuse. Messages are emailed to us and a copy is stored on our web server, outside the public part of the site. We use this information only to reply to you and keep it only for as long as we need it to deal with your message. If you email us directly, we receive whatever your email contains.
Information collected automatically
Our web server and Cloudflare, the network that delivers the site, record standard access logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These are used for security, to diagnose faults and to see aggregate traffic, such as how many times a guide was opened. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify individual visitors.
Local storage
When you close the cookie notice, the site stores one value (mcsa_cookie_consent) in your browser’s local storage so the notice is not shown again. It contains no personal information and never leaves your device. The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser; the numbers you type into them are not sent to our server.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show advertising, which is how the site is paid for. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and detect fraud, and, where you have agreed or where the law allows, to personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (now part of Google’s My Ad Center). You can also opt out of many other third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info, or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing history. Non-personalised ads can still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregate reporting and fraud prevention.

Consent in Europe and the UK
Where the law requires consent before personalised advertising (in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), Google shows a consent message before personalised ads are used. You can change your answer later by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, after which the message is shown again, or through Google Ads Settings above.
Blocking cookies
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The guides and tools work normally without them.
Analytics
We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics script. Our view of how the site is used comes from the aggregate figures in our server logs and Cloudflare’s dashboard, and from the aggregate reports Google AdSense provides about ad performance.
Links to other sites
Guides link to official stores, software downloads and other resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.
Children
Many Minecraft players are children, so the site is written for a general audience and asks for no personal information to read it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the contact form. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it. Your rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its processing, by emailing [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa), or to your local data protection authority if you are in the EU or UK.

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
